There are several options in game where you can change some aspects and settings of your account. You do not have to change anything to play OGame but, some of them might be interesting for you. - Nickname
During registration you will chose your favorite nickname. You need that name for the login as well as for the whole game. The nickname can be changed freely but any kind of insult or racism is not allowed and will result in a ban. You can change your nick once a week if you chose to.
- Password
Many players disregard this setting but it is one of the most important things you have to keep your account safe. If another person/player knows the password or even has access to that, he can do whatever he wants. Your fleets and planets/ moons can be destroyed or even the whole account can be deleted.

- Espionage Probes
You have two possibilities to spy on your enemies. Either you send your probes by using your fleet menu or you take the easy way by clicking on the spy icon button at the right in your galaxy view. From here you can set the number of spy probes that are sent while you select spy option from the galaxy view.

- Warnings
You can deactivate Outlaw-Warning on attacks on opponents who are 5-times stronger while you are under noob players protection system.
- RSS-Feed (only commander)
With the aid of the RSS-Feature you can forward your messages automatically so you can read them even if you are not logged into your account at the moment.

- Show mobile version: You can switch on/off between the classical browser gameview and a mobile view (simpler and more user-friendly for mobile players).
- Show alternative drop downs: You can change the drop downs game menus styles in case you have an older browser or you play form mobile. - Activate autofocus in the highscores: While visiting highscore section, this option will focus you on the list to make it easier for you to locate yourself and check your ranking position. - Always show events: It is possible to hide/show the event list. Also, you can select where do you want to display it (above/below).
- Your planets
In this menu you can adjust how your planets should be sorted. You can choose between order of emergence, coordinates, alphabet, size, used fields and if you're using Commander, customize your own sorting. If you prefer you can choose the sort sequence up or down.

Here you can turn off some small animations if you want and hide or show the grey background under the planet information.

- Overlays
These settings allow the corresponding overlays to open as an additional browser window instead of within the game for Notes and Combat Reports.

You have two options here: you can set the detailed activity display, in order to see player activity timers indicators in Galaxy, and you can preserve the galaxy and system you are looking even while changing planet. For more information about activity indicators please read Activity guide

- Vacation Mode
The vacation mode protects you during absences from the game. So if you want to go on vacation and protect your account until you are back, you should activate the vacation mode.
